Private Lessons

I have been teaching private cello lessons for nearly 15 years. Currently, I offer private music instruction for both children and adults in the downtown Knoxville area. In Knoxville, I have served as the cello instructor for Community School of the Arts. In Lexington, KY, I served as the cello instructor for Central Music Academy. Both programs provide free music instruction to students whose families have financial need and would otherwise not have access to music lessons.

 

My background as a music therapist informs my approach teaching: In addition to making sure my students have a solid technical foundation, it is important to me that the process of music lessons feels empowering and positive. I want each of my students to experience growth in their self-esteem and to develop a broad range of tools that allow them to be independent and creative music makers.
